What makes being a Wedding musician so special to me: The fact that the entire point is for the couple to get Their day, and I get to contribute to making that day extra special.
My path into weddings started in Germany, where I grew up and received my musical education (up to a music degree from the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich). After moving to the UK for what was planned to be a temporary opportunity, I met someone very special here, and we got married and stayed. Our own wedding and life together is one of the reasons why I love weddings so much, as the beautiful celebrations of a unique relationship that they are.
Some of my favourite weddings in the past have included custom medleys with sometimes slightly unusual or quirky songs or pieces of music, that I then got to arrange into something that fits into the context of a wedding. Often those songs are based on memories, inside jokes, soundtracks from films watched together, or childhood favourites. I can't wait to hear what songs You would love to have as part of your day (including surprises for the other person), to hear the stories behind them if you'd like to share them with me, and to plan how to make that vision a reality. Arranging medleys can sometimes be a fun party trick, but I'd much rather use it to make the music on your wedding day intentional, special, and 100% You.
To me, there are two sides to preparing for a wedding: the practical and the artistic side. For You, the practical side will feel like peace of mind, knowing I will show up on time, well rehearsed, with all the required gear and backups for things like cables, having communicated about everything important with You and the venue. The goal is for You not to have to worry about anything, and be able to just fully enjoy the day.
The artistic side is more about You having a custom experience: if I'm playing violin or singing with backing tracks at Your wedding, I can make those backing tracks myself, recorded on high quality acoustic instruments, with good quality audio, and attention to detail. I arrange songs with the atmosphere of the specific moment in mind, to make sure it feels as special as it deserves.
I am based in Runcorn, and am available for weddings throughout the Northwest (Cheshire, Lancashire, Liverpool and Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Cumbria and the Lakes), and into Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire and North Wales, but I am also happy to drive further afield.
